I want to make a Long Island that will melt my face! What are the best brands of Vodka, Gin, Rum & Tequila?

Author: admin  /  Category: long island homes

I love my Long Island Iced Teas but I’ve never made them at home and I don’t have much experience buying booze. I know they’re essentially made of equal parts of Vodka, Gin, Rum and Tequila with some Tripel Sec and a splash of coke but I don’t know which brands of sprits to buy. That’s where you come in…

To make a good Long Island that doesn’t totally break the bank, I’d go: Smirnoff, Beefeaters, Bacardi, and Jose Cuervo silver.

Add your Triple Sec, don’t forget a splash of sweet & sour mix, and your cola.

    Rum: Bacardi 151
    Vodka: Smirnoff 100 proof.
Tequila: Quervo 1800 (smoother than some Tequila’s I’ve had)
    Gin: Beefeater

That should melt your face right off.

If you can find it, switch out the vodka for Everclear. Most places don’t have it though as quite a few States don’t allow it to be sold. It’s somewhere around 180 proof, IIRC.

Grey Goose vodka (or svedka if you’re a cheap-o)… Tanqueray gin is the best gin… period… For Rum, you want white rum, Bacardi will do fine… And for Tequila, Patron will scratch you in the face and kick you in the balls, which is what you’re going for, right?

Most bartenders and bars use low grade cheap booze. You can use popular booze like Bacardi, Absolute, Tanqueray but that will just cost you more money in the end to cause the same effect. The key is equal parts and all white alcohol. Tri sec to sweeten and a splash of sweet & sour if not sweet enough. Serve in your favorite tall glass.

    Vodka- Smirnoff
    Gin- Tangeray
    Rum- Bacardi
    Tequila- Patron

this will be expensive…they’re all top shelf…Good luck
    P.S.
I manage a Medical billing office drinking your face off probably won’t be covered by your insurance

    Vodka- Grey Goose or Effen
    Gin- Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray
    Rum- Captain Morgan’s Private Stock
Tequila- Herradura blanco or Cielo blanco
Triple Sec- get some Cointreau or Grand Marnier instead

If you want to drink, you are better off just buying a nice bottle of anejo tequila or 12yo single malt scotch and sipping some. The brands I mentioned will probably run you >$150 for a bottle of each.

theres different brands from state to state, but what you can always do is buy the most expensive of everything, and it will always get you trashed the quickest more than liely, you can also look at the proof on the bottle, but making a home made long island is much cheaper than going to a bar and buying one
