i live on the east end of long island new york in a waterfront community.
We just got back from a trip to Alaska. Before we went, we stopped at a camping store and they recommended we check the labels for higher concentrations of DEET.
Several times, we hiked in clouds of misquitoes and I only got one bite (on my wrist where I hadn’t applied any repellent).

My Gramma swore by Vitamin B supplements. I don’t know if it really worked but I take vitamin supplements as well and haven’t had a mosquito bite in a couple of years. Even when my fiance was sleeping next to me wearing but repellant with deet, he got bitten up and I didn’t.

Avon Skin So Soft bath oil in original scent. You can cut it with a little rubbing alcohol if you want. I usually get eaten alive when I’m mowing the lawn and I rubbed on some of this. Not one insect bothered me. In fact, a mosquito flew up and hovered by my leg for a second then flew off! It makes your skin soft, too, and not a girilie scent so guys won’t complain about wearing it.
